Greetings faithful followers,
Great news to announce: My new site www.mattguddat.com has just launched.
Unfortunately this means the end of The Kings Tree. When I started the Kings Tree I did so as a partial experiment to learn how to blog, write and navigate the web. Thanks to this site and www.faithwriters.com I feel I have progressed a lot.
So why a new site?
While on my recent trip to Philippines and India I saw many pastors are in need of teaching and resources. They have extremely little and some live in remote areas, yet they all have a phone and internet connection.
I want to focus More >
I now stand in Singapore airport returning from the Philippines. What a journey! The others are on seperate flights all heading to various destinations, Leigh and myself are in transit to Thailand and the India.
Below are links to the final two videos. We were priveliged to visit the science class room where teacher gary gave us a low down on all the equiptment as well as a few nasty parasites on display in jars.
Rod and Karen Harris helped sponsor this project (the science lab… not the parasites) and it was great to see their sacrifices bearing fruit. Turns out the school won a science More >
Well we have now passed the halfway mark. We all own a tan and Ashleigh is truly sunburnt.
We have spent a lot of time with the bible college students and had a great ministry time with them on Friday afternoon. We then celebrated many birthdays at the children’s home. We have spent a lot of time with them also, and wherever we walk around the centre we can hear our names being hollered. These events are featured in episode four featured bellow.
Episode three is also below and shows some awesome gifts we were able to give to the children thanks to Manna Christian Stores, CRC peeps and Mike More >
We are well underway now. Busy meeting orphans, school children and the disabled home. The team is well and sharing testimonies galore. I have made two videos to update you, however due to a busy schedule and limited internet availability you will have to wait for them.
Today we had some spare time that we spent touching a giant python and testing a variety of fruit. Though there was an opportunity to update you via fast internet I am sad to say, touching a giant python pulled on my interest a little more than Vimeo.
Dianne sends you greetings Rod and Karen. I will More >
Here we are embarking on another adventure, crossword book and journal at hand.
For the first time I lay awake in bed, nervous and doubtful of our journey. I was exited but sad to leave. I have never felt this way before and can only assume it has something to do with maturing, making good friends and settling into home life.
Despite these pre journey jitters I have a growing passion to minister in the Holy Spirit. I feel his presence over us very strongly, I know he is all around us.
I am exited about the team, to see how God grows them. Below is a video of our travels More >
You dance over me
while I am unaware
You sing all around
though I never hear a sound
Originally sung by Phillips, Craig and Dean, this song has hit a large fan base in churches around the world. Many covers exist on you tube, however, Steffany Gertzinger Frizzel of Bethel Church, California is a personal favourite. With poetic language it recites scriptures such as:
Zephaniah 3:17 ‘His power gives you victory. The LORD will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life. He will sing and be joyful over you.’
Isaiah 62:5 More >
Jimmy swept crumbs off the table. They scattered across the tiled floor as a figure emerged in the doorway. The stranger’s presence was uncomfortable and dominating, yet neither person made any effort to greet the other.
Smoke hung in the air and a stench gripped the atmosphere. Jimmy withdrew his hands from the table tucking them close to his stomach. His chest was tight and he was finding it hard to breathe. His heart rate had increased noticeably and acute panic was tempered by disorientation.
“What have you done to me fool?”
The stranger made no attempt to answer the question.
“Did you More >
Book and Author
Smith Wigglesworth Devotional
Stronger than a double shot long back, Smith Wigglesworth Devotional will give your day a kick start like high grade rocket fuel in a moped. Some mornings I avoid opening this book as it beckons for me on the coffee table, because quite honestly it scares me.
Wigglesworth was known to jump upon dead people and call them back to life, throw hospitalised patients against the wall only to see them instantly healed. When his own wife died he called her back to life multiple times before she More >
Peter and John went to Pray
They met a lame man on the way
He asked for alms and held out his palms
And this is what Peter did say
“Silver and gold have I none
But what I have I give thee
In the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth rise up and walk”
Powerful words from a child’s hymn.
A significant issue that has plagued me in regards to this song is Peter and Johns determination in pushing through rush hour traffic to get to the temple to pray. Why?
The Christ had returned to fulfil the law. Jesus refers to himself as the temple and Father emphasises this by tearing the veil of the More >
Heaven is for Real – Todd Burpo
Heaven is a subject that pulls at our attention. With so many opinions, debates and accounts, being a sceptic is understandable. Heaven is for Real, however, carries a sense of innocence and is relayed in a childlike down-to-earth tone making it apt for the rural farmer and Pentecostal hippie alike.
Todd Burbo, a Wesleyan pastor, is far from believing childish fairy tales, yet is dumb founded when his son talks of meeting Jesus! Because Colton was so young at the time of his near death experience his celestial revelations surface over More >
